Christian School Philosophy

The educational philosophy of Redeemer Christian School is based on a God-centered view that all truth is God’s truth and that the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. God created all things and sustained all things. Therefore, the universe and humanity are dynamically related to God and serve the purpose of glorifying Him. Because humanity is sinful by nature and choice, one can glorify God only by choosing God’s free gift of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ, thereby committing one’s life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our aim is to provide a biblical worldview, from which will come an understanding of a person’s role at home, at play, and at worship---all grounded in the Christian concept of love.

This philosophy channels our energies to promote high academic standards while helping the students to achieve skills in creative and critical thinking by utilizing the best curriculum available. The objective of our instructional program is to prepare students –to the best of their abilities –so that they may pursue the post-secondary education of their choosing, whether college, university, or in vocational training areas.

Our responsibility for the student encompasses spiritual, mental, intellectual, physical, social, and emotional areas. These are inseparable; through them runs the insistent thread of the spiritual. Therefore, it must be our aim to shun the tendency to teach the Bible compartmentally or on the intellectual level alone.

It is apparent, then, that the types of activities we employ or permit in the classroom or school program will facilitate our basic philosophy. The spiritual must permeate all areas—else we become textbook-oriented rather than student-oriented.

The school views itself as an indispensable part of the three major influences on the life of each child: the home, the school, and the church. The school intends to be an extension of the home and, therefore, a responsive listener of the home.

Redeemer Christian is committed to a program of excellence, which strives for the best instruction, through the use of the best materials, in fully resourced facilities, and in a distraction-free environment. This philosophy dictates that we cooperate closely with parents in every phase of the student’s development, always offering assistance in understanding the purposes of RCS.

The Mission

Our mission is to develop students who are rooted in Christ and equipped to change the world. Redeemer Christian is committed to providing robust academic instruction rooted in a Biblical worldview. Our Christ centered environment fosters discipleship, equipping students to serve Jesus in all aspects of their lives. We cultivate future leaders who are empowered to impact the Kingdom of God.

The Motto

Modeling Christ and preparing all students to live a life of Godly wisdom, Christ-like character, and expressing God’s love to one another.

Statement of Faith

Redeemer Christian School was founded and operates upon the basic fundamental principles of the Word of God, and it espouses the historic Christian view of life as presented in the Bible. The following statements of faith and practice are held by Redeemer Christian School.

We believe the Bible to be the verbally inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God. (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21

II

We believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Gen 1:1; John 10:30; John 10:37, 38

III

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal future return in power and glory. (Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:23; Luke 1:35; Heb. 4:15Heb. 7:25; Jn. 2:11; Heb. 9:12; Eph. 1:7; Col. 1:14; Jn. 11:25; Acts 1:11; Rev. 19:11-16)

IV

We believe that man is sinful by nature and that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential and an absolute necessity for his salvation. (Rom. 3:19, 23; Jn. 3:16-19Jn. 5:24; Eph. 2:8-10; Titus 3:5, 6

V

We believe in the continuing ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life. (Eph. 5:18; Eph. 4:30; 1 Cor. 3:161 Cor. 6:19-20)

VI

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. They who are saved unto eternal life and they who are lost unto eternal damnation. (Jn. 5:28-29)

VII

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:9; 2 Cor. 12:12-13; Gal. 3:26-28

VIII

We believe in the creation of man by the direct act of God. (Gen. 1:26-28; Gen. 5:1-2

The Statement of Faith is fundamental to basic Christian tenets and contains those doctrines to which we unreservedly adhere and teach.
