RCS Families,
- Our Families – We know of a couple Redeemer families whose homes have flooded. We are providing care and helping to determine their needs. They are safe but will need our support. Please pray for peace and their continued protection. We will provide a way to support them further soon.
- Our Campuses – All of our campuses have weathered the rain and flooding well so far. However, our Kent View Campus property is currently taking on water and will remain closed until further notice.
- Our Response – We will continue to provide care for our families and staff impacted by flooding. We are also partnering with New Life to provide regional support. 30 pallets of supplies arrived at our Renton Campus this morning. Supplies will be distributed Tuesday night. Please see my Friday email for details.
Yesterday, flood water near the Kent View Campus began flowing onto the corner of the campus. We mobilized a team of 30 staff and volunteers who placed 6 pallets of sandbags to divert the water away from the buildings into the back field. This has successfully protected the buildings so far. Last night, the City of Auburn issued an evacuation order to the area including and surrounding the Kent View Campus. Today we were back on campus to assess the conditions and provide additional protection to our buildings and their contents. We will continue to monitor the situation. The Kent View Campus will remain closed until further notice. Our team is also developing a plan to host the Kent View students at a different location for this week to begin on Tuesday. We will send more detailed information for KV families and families who use the KV to BD shuttle later today.
